We have been doing Sub24Os for a few years now. They make you feel like you've gone on vacation without having to take time off work! We have several great spots not far from town.

Atchison state fishing lake

Mileage: 32 Miles

Points of Interest: Atchison State Fishing Lake is a great place for a Sub-24 Overnighter. The Lake has free tent camping or cabin rentals. The roller coaster gravel roads from the highway to the lake make for a fun, high adventure trip. 

 

Lewis & clark state park

Mileage: 25 Miles

Points of Interest: Lewis & Clark State Park is a quiet park with water access. Hike the trails to the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Plaza or out to the Plains Indian Tipi. We highly recommend stopping at Pat's Steakhouse for a meal. The route also goes past the Riverwood Winery.

 

leavenworth county fishing lake

Mileage: 20 Miles

Points of Interest: This Sub-24 Overnight is an annual must for us. The route through the rolling farm country is beautiful and relaxing. There is minimal gravel to get to the lake and wow what a beautiful Lake. The campsites are rustic and there is one water spigot for the whole lake.

GRAVEL: aTCHISON WARNOCK LAKE

Mileage: 24 Miles

Points of Interest: Warnock Lake is right next to the International Forest of Friendship and Amelia Earhart field art. There is a cafe in Potter and ample places in Atchison for sustenance.
